UNAIR NEWS - Directorate of Career Development, Entrepreneurship Incubation and Alumni (DPKKA) Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) held another webinar series of Airlangga Career and Internship Club entitled "Study Abroad Opportunities" on Thursday, June 8, 2020. This time, Dewi Irawati, branch manager of Sun Education Surabaya, was the guest speaker.

In the presentation session, Dewi discussed the choice to study abroad can be the right decision. According to her, students get many benefits from studying abroad.

1. Open Up Global Opportunities

Dewi said that studying abroad is like a gateway to the global world. This means it opens up wider opportunities for students to explore themselves and hone their skills.

"Knowledge can be obtained anywhere, but studying abroad has many benefits. You can network with students from various countries and share experiences and cultures," she said.

2. Life-Changing Experience

In addition to knowledge, Dewi said experience is a valuable lesson. Of course, the experience of studying abroad is different from domestic studies. She shared that the habits of overseas students who study while working part-time have a positive value for practicing time management.

3. Improve Language

Furthermore, it cannot be denied that language is one of the challenges when deciding to study abroad. According to Dewi, it is important to know which country you are going to so that you can learn both the local language and English to facilitate communication.

4. Discover Career Opportunities Abroad

She also revealed that studying abroad can expand career opportunities. "Through study abroad, students have information related to job opportunities in the international scope," she added.

Before deciding to study abroad, students must carefully consider the choice. "Is it difficult to study abroad? Actually, yes, but your efforts to achieve it will be worth it," said Dewi.
