UNAIR NEWS – Being a pilot in the Indonesian Navy (TNI AL) is not easy. Hadi Priyono had to go through various obstacles. Apart from being a Navy pilot, he was listed as a postgraduate student at the doctoral level at Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR).

Even though he has roles as a helicopter pilot for the Indonesian Navy and a student, Priyo can still carry out his roles well. Thanks to his persistence, Priyo was named the Best Graduate of UNAIR Postgraduate Program in 233 Graduation period with a GPA of 3.97. Priyo said that it was a joint achievement.

“I am grateful because this achievement is an achievement that is not necessarily a personal achievement. It’s the answer to parents’, wife’s and children’s prayers,” he said.

Priyo said that he had two responsibilities during college, which was a challenge. However, online learning during the Covid-19 pandemic at that time made it more accessible.

“The challenge was when I got an assignment from the unit and lecturer simultaneously. But because learning during Covid-19 was online, I can study anywhere, and I don’t have to be on campus,” he explained.

Priyo added that he always received supports from UNAIR Postgraduate School for smooth study. “I received full support from the Head of the Study Program (KPS), especially regarding assignments. So I can still complete the task even though I’m on duty,” he said.

Initially, Priyo accidentally chose the Human Resource Development (PSDM) study program. But after going through it, it turns out that it was an accident that helped him improve his career. “In the future, I will take care of a lot of personnel so that I will gain a lot of knowledge in college that will support my career,” he explained.

After graduating from UNAIR Postgraduate School, Priyo revealed that he would continue his service and become a lecturer. “I will serve the best in my capacity as a servant of the state. From an academic standpoint, there are long-term plans to donate to several private campuses and defense campuses in Indonesia,” he concluded.
