Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) is committed to ensuring that Ksatria Airlangga has the opportunity and support to optimize its best potential. One of them is through the Merdeka Learning Campus Merdeka (MBKM) program which offers a variety of activities for students. Such as the Airlangga Collaborative Entrepreneur Camp (ACEC) which is a program of Wirausaha Merdeka (WMK) UNAIR. The program provides a platform for students throughout Indonesia to enhance their entrepreneurial experience.

Opportunities for Students to Become Entrepreneurs

On Friday, December 23, 2023, ACEC held a Closing Ceremony and Awarding as the closing of the program after approximately five months. Around 400 students from various universities throughout Indonesia attended the event.

Prof. Dr. Elly Munadziroh drg MS as Director of DPKKA UNAIR, expressed her hope for ACEC participants to continue their business, regardless of the end of ACEC activities. She also hoped that ACEC participants could become true entrepreneurs.

"This activity is the country's desire to make its citizens entrepreneurs. Funding is launched so that students can become entrepreneurs and job creators, not job seekers," explained Prof. Elly in the event which took place in Sriwijaya Room, ASEEC, Dharmawangsa-B Campus.

Profits of Tens of Thousands of Rupiah to Become the Richest Person

In the last agenda of ACEC, Prof. Elly shared a brief story of Chairul Tanjung starting a business. She shared that the figure who now serves as the Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia in 2014 started his business from scratch.

"Mr. Chairul Tanjung started a business with an initial profit of 15 thousand rupiah. Through this 15 thousand rupiah, he is now the fifth richest person in Indonesia. The great people we know today, used to start from nothing," said Prof. Elly.

A true entrepreneur is someone who can turn something worthless into something valuable. From nothing, they can create something of value. Entrepreneurs start from the bottom, but they never give up and continue to work hard to achieve success.

Awarding Lecturers and Participants

At the end of the event session, there were awards given to the best participants and lecturers. ACEC-21 Field Supervisor (DPL), Budi Prasetyo, was chosen as the Favorite DPL. Two other accompanying lecturers also won the Favorite DPL award, namely Edi Budi Santoso and Eva Nur Mazidah. The participant who won the title of Most Active Participant was Qais Reyhan, a representative of the ACEC-19 group.

Meanwhile, ACEC-30 (Video Game Time String Club) was chosen as the Most Creative Group. ACEC-07 (Spice Coffee) was chosen as the Most Innovative Group, and ACEC-37 (Chick n Long) was chosen as the Best Selling Group. Hopefully, the award can be a motivation for the participants and accompanying lecturers to continue working and giving their best for ACEC.
