UNAIR NEWS – Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) Student Executive Board (BEM) in collaboration with Kahf held a seminar entitled "Development Career Program" on Friday (01/03/2024). The event, which was held offline at the Joint Lecture Building, Dharmawangsa-B Campus, presented M Aly Rizky as the Kahf product representative and Lina Nugraha Rani SE M SEI as Head of Career Development Section, Department of Career Development, Entrepreneurship Incubation and UNAIR alumni.

Build a Career with the Right Mentor
Nothing is instant in this world, nor is it true in the context of achieving success. Everything has to be done through a fairly long process, therefore you should prepare your career from the start. Lina, her nickname, continued to remind all the students present not to take it easy in building their careers. Everything must be prepared from the start and continue to open ourselves to find out our passion.

“Students should start building their careers from the first semester. Building a career can start from something as simple as branding yourself via social media like Linkedin. "Or maybe you can join a student organization to broaden your relationships and find out where your true passion is," said Lina.

Lina also advised all participants who attended that day to always look for the right mentor. “Mentors play an important role in developing students' careers. The selection of a mentor must be done wisely, adjusting to each individual's values and goals. The presence of a mentor not only provides guidance, but also broadens views and shares experiences. "With a mentor, students can accelerate learning and career growth," he added.

Develop Your Abilities and Appearance
Times are developing very quickly and as time goes by competition is also getting tougher. Therefore, we must continue to learn and be willing to open ourselves to all the changes that exist. Aly also emphasized that students must continue to learn, open themselves up, and not make too many excuses.

“As young people, you are the one who must be able to follow changes. Don't be reluctant about existing changes. Students must continue to open themselves and learn from all these demanding changes. "Don't make too many excuses, while you're still young, take advantage of all your opportunities to explore your potential," said Aly.

Aly also added that improving physical appearance is also important in building a career. “Today, appearance is no less important than our abilities. Appearance is the first thing that other people see about us. "For example, if we are having an interview session with HR, it's a good idea to prepare our appearance as much as possible so that the interviewer will be happy and interested in us," he said.
