Prof. Nasih conveyed this in a press conference held on Tuesday (07/02/2024) at the Management Office Building, MERR-C Campus.

Call for Dignified Democracy
In the ten messages delivered by the rector, UNAIR emphasized the importance of upholding adab, morality, ethics, manners, and politeness in politics. Prof. Nasih highlighted the political elites, both at the central and regional levels, to be a good example in realizing a dignified democracy. He also prioritized the interests of the nation and state above all personal, ethnic, group, and party interests.

"We invite all parties to jointly realize a dignified democracy in Indonesia. With quality, honest, fair, free, secret, safe and peaceful elections. This is a shared responsibility for the sake of national unity and integrity," he said.

The importance of compliance with laws and regulations, especially related to elections, is also a focus of UNAIR. UNAIR firmly rejects money politics and efforts to destroy unity through divisive politics. UNAIR also appealed to election organizers to carry out their duties professionally, fairly and transparently, becoming the main footing in the message.

Regarding security, Prof. Nasih emphasized the neutrality of law enforcement officials. Including the Police and the TNI and guaranteeing security for all citizens who want to exercise their voting rights. A special message was given to elements of society, such as professors, professors, ulama, kyai, scholars, intellectuals, academics, lecturers, and students, to actively educate the public about elections.

Assign students
"UNAIR students will directly supervise polling stations, maintaining election integrity. We also provide space for research and research relevant to election dynamics to support a healthy democratic process," he explained.

In closing the press conference, Prof. Nasih emphasized that the views or actions that have emerged so far are not official representations of the university, but personal views. Thus, UNAIR gives a firm voice in supporting dignified democracy and quality elections, emphasizing its commitment to a fair and transparent democratic process in Indonesia.

"UNAIR supports dignified democracy and quality elections. This confirms our commitment to a fair and transparent democratic process in Indonesia," he concluded.
