"Emotions do not only lead to anger or sadness. Emotions can be frustration, embarrassment, pleasure, satisfaction, surprise, annoyance, disgust, and many more forms of emotions that we have," he said.

Managing Emotions
There are 3 things that can be done to manage emotions. First, physiology or what is inside us. The way is by exercising, sorting out the food consumed, and paying attention to gesture or posture.

"Second, the mind. Nowadays, the mind is easily distracted by news, human relationships, unfavorable environment, and politics. With the ease with which we can access news, we need to sort out the news we will consume," he said.

Finally, managing emotions through language. Suyantoko mentioned that we need to sort out vocabulary or selection of words in speaking to avoid different perceptions from the interlocutor. In addition, he added, it is also necessary to pay attention to tone and intonation in asking questions.

Benefits of Emotional Intelligence
Emotional Intelligence is very useful and has a big role in the world of work. Suyantoko revealed, with us being able to recognize other people's emotions, communication will be more effective, especially when working together in a team. In addition, he continued, emotional intelligence makes a person have the ability to lead.

"Talking about leadership skills, before leading others, we must be able to lead ourselves first by recognizing ourselves through our emotions. That way, we can recognize other people through their emotions," he said.

Not only that, with the ability to manage emotions, a person is able to become a mediator or conflict resolution. Thus, when working together in a team, one is able to become a mediator.
