UNAIR 241 Graduation: Banyuwangi Regent named most contributive graduate Wednesday, 20 March 2024 14:13

UNAIR NEWS – There was something different about the 241 Graduation ceremony of Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) held on Sunday, March 3, 2024, at the Airlangga Convention Center (ACC), MERR-C Campus. In this joyous event, several regional leaders officially completed their education at UNAIR. One of them is the Regent of Banyuwangi, Ipuk Fiestiandini Azwar Anas SPd MKp. Despite her busy schedule, Ipuk’s determination to pursue education remains unwavering. She was honored as an Outstanding Graduate with Most Contribution to Education.

Why choose UNAIR
In an interview with UNAIR NEWS, Ipuk expressed her honor for being a part of the UNAIR community. She believes that UNAIR is a leading university in Indonesia. The recognition of UNAIR as the nation’s leading university was the main reason for her to pursue education at UNAIR. Besides, UNAIR consistently offers students the flexibility to learn from anywhere and at any time.

“I believe that UNAIR is the best university in East Java and Indonesia. Banyuwangi has established a strong network with UNAIR, with the presence of FIKKIA,” explained the graduate from the Master’s program in Public Policy, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP).

Her academic challenges were not her significant concerns. She believes that those are essential for achieving something to the fullest. Without challenges, the journey would not be interesting.

Prioritize education
Despite her hectic schedule, the Banyuwangi Regent continued to prioritize her education. Quite often, her classmates assisted Ipuk. The generation gap did not hinder their interaction.

“Challenges are natural. We must be able to manage our time. When my friends attended offline classes, I sought permission to join online, as I hold office in Banyuwangi. Thankfully, I had supportive friends. I managed to graduate thanks to their encouragement,” she said.

Ipuk expressed her concern about the inequality of education in Indonesia, especially in remote areas. Many children are still left behind.

“Many Indonesian children still lack access to education. This should be a concern for everyone, not just the government but also the community and even the private sector. Universities should collaborate to find solutions so that Indonesian children can have equal rights to education,” she said.

The current biggest challenge in Indonesian education is access to education in remote areas. It leads to the uneven distribution of educational facilities, which is hoped to garner the attention of the entire Indonesian society.

Hopes
Representing the Banyuwangi Government, Ipuk congratulated all UNAIR graduates. She hoped that, after completing their education, all graduates could contribute according to their respective fields of knowledge to solve various problems around them.

“I am confident that all UNAIR graduates have achievements in their respective fields. Let us contribute with the knowledge we have mastered. I also hope that UNAIR remains committed to maintaining the quality of the education system, thus producing scholars today,” she said.

Wrapping up the interview, Ipuk advised all students to continue striving and be encouraged to complete their education. Despite all limitations, she believes that Allah will certainly provide ease for those who strive.
