The John H. This competition is organised annually and participated by various universities from all over the world.

Raising the Issue of Carbon Charge
The competition, held at the National University of Management Cambodia, this year raised the issue of carbon charges and conflicts with Most-Favoured Nations and national treatment in GATT and its Exceptions. Yasmin, the chairperson, said that her team had the opportunity to make arguments for both Complainant and Respondent according to the case.

"Our team prepared this for six months, starting from the preparation of materials, memorials, to pleading. Of course, this preparation took a lot of time and we had to adjust our training schedule with our busy schedules," he said.

He said that this international moot court competition was quite different from other international moot court competitions. According to him, the John H. Jackson Moot Court Competition has very technical assessment criteria in litigation. Uniquely, this competition is only allowed to use scientific evidence contained in the case.

Achieving Best Orator
Meanwhile, Amanda expressed her happiness for winning best orator. Although it was not the first time she had participated in the international moot court category, she recognised the many lessons learnt.

"Through the John H. Jackson Moot Court Competition we are happy to be able to achieve best orator, besides that it is a valuable experience for us to have the opportunity to meet directly with experts in the field of international law from various countries," said Amanda.

She admitted that at the beginning before they joined this competition, they felt less confident. She shared the motto that she and the team had instilled in them as encouragement, namely "Have faith in yourself and your team", until in the end she and the team succeeded in winning best orator.
