DPKKA holds Bidan Go Internasional webinar and recruitment Monday, 01 April 2024 10:45

UNAIR NEWS – The Directorate of Career Development, Entrepreneurship Incubation, and Alumni Affairs (DPKKA) of Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) has organized the Airlangga Entrepreneur Club (AEC). The AEC webinar was held online on Saturday, March 24, 2024. Approximately 140 participants attended the forum via Zoom Meeting.

Themed “Bidan Go Internasional,” DPKKA encouraged students to explore further opportunities for employment as midwives abroad. In this webinar, DPKKA collaborated with PT Binawan Inti Utama, a company engaged in the deployment of overseas workers. The company is affiliated with the Ministry of Manpower and the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia.

Employment opportunities
The webinar was initiated with an opening address from Desy Natalia Widya, Manager of Partnerships at PT Binawan Inti Utama. Desy revealed that Indonesia is currently experiencing a demographic bonus, while many other countries are facing a shortage of workforce, especially in the healthcare sector.

“Many other countries are currently facing a shortage of productive-age workers. Therefore, there are employment opportunities for Indonesian workers to fill job vacancies in certain countries,” Desy explained.

Desy then shared about the visit from the Minister of Health of Saudi Arabia, who directly requested to bring midwife workers to his country. “Apart from Saudi Arabia, several other countries are making similar requests. Therefore, never hesitate because there are plenty of job opportunities available for those who want to pursue a professional career abroad,” Desy continued.

Integrated ecosystem
Next, the webinar continued with a presentation from Marketing Communication at PT Binawan Inti Utama, Putri Reza. In her presentation, Putri introduced the ecosystem of PT Binawan Inti Utama to the participants.

“Binawan has been established for 47 years and has a fairly comprehensive ecosystem, ranging from university training centers to vocational schools, and many more. Therefore, we not only deploy workers, but we also train productive-age individuals to be work-ready,” explained Putri.

Putri also explained about the community within PT Binawan Inti Utama. Every Indonesian worker abroad will be integrated into the community to communicate with fellow Indonesians in the country of placement.

“Since PT Binawan has been established for 47 years, there are certainly many Indonesian workers residing in the placement countries. As such, new workers will easily adapt and receive guidance through the community established by PT Binawan,” said Putri.

In the closing session, Putri discussed the midwife recruitment process by PT Binawan. PT Binawan disseminates recruitment forms accessible to participants, allowing them to directly apply to be part of the ” Bidan Go Internasional” program.
