UNAIR NEWS - Being the best among hundreds of other graduates is a pride for Jesslyn Jordana. The student of Faculty of Dentistry (FKG) Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) managed to become the best graduate with GPA 3.94.

For her, what she got now is just part of a long learning process. According to him, there are still many things he does not know and needs to be deepened. "I try to appreciate this process and will still give my best in every opportunity given to me," he said.

Facing the Challenges of College
Jesslyn said that the pandemic was one of the challenges she felt during her lectures. Moreover, there are many materials that are quite complicated to understand. From that, the lack of direct interaction with lecturers, made her need to adjust to the existing situation.

With these challenges, she began to look for effective self-learning strategies, such as participating in online discussions with classmates and utilising online learning resources. Jesslyn didn't want her enthusiasm for learning to collapse due to a non-conducive environment.

Community Service
In her final project, Jesslyn completed a thesis entitled Prevalence of Malocclusion and Variations in Craniofacial Morphology of Children Aged 7-13 Years (At SDN Medowo III Kediri in 2023). She said that writing the thesis was her first experience in conducting research directly in the community.

"I had the opportunity to participate in collecting data in Medowo Village, Kediri, which was a valuable experience because I could interact with the community directly," she said.

Not only that, he got his experience in the community when carrying out KKN. Together with friends from other faculties, she held an oral health education programme. In addition, there was a socialisation of the importance of healthy and balanced nutritious food.

"There was also tutoring, socialisation on waste sorting, coaching programmes for MSMEs, and a people's market," she concluded.

In the future, Jesslyn will continue her professional education at the UNAIR dental and oral hospital. she hopes I can become a dentist who is beneficial to many people.

"I realise that this is only the beginning of a long journey towards achieving my dream of becoming a dentist," she hoped.
