UNAIR NEWS - Chairperson of IKA UNAIR Khofifah Indar Parawansa inaugurated the board of IKA UNAIR North Sumatra Region. The inauguration took place on Tuesday, April 23, 2020 in Medan City. Attending the inauguration were IKA UNAIR Secretary General Indra Nur Fauzi MM, UNAIR Director of Entrepreneurship & Alumni Development (DPKKA) Prof Elly Munadziroh drg Ms, USU FE Lecturer who is also Senior IKA UNAIR North Sumatra Prof Ritha Dalimunthe, and Vice Rector IV of Medan University Prof Eron Damaniq.

Improve Human Resources
Launching from RRI, Khofifah in her speech said that building networks between alumni is very important. Moreover, currently there has been an increase in human resources in higher education. “Therefore, what we need is networking. When entering industry 4.0, 5.0, and 6.0, what we need is good collaboration and synergy,” said Khofifah.\

Seeing UNAIR's position as a university ranked 345 in the world, all standards and quality of human resources must be improved. The goal is that UNAIR can contribute to progress in the field of education. “So we as alumni of a world class university campus are an extraordinary force to provide space for universities to provide strengthening references to others,” said Khofifah.

Expand Network
Furthermore, IKA UNAIR continues to expand its alumni network in various regions and countries. In each chapter, it is hoped that it can produce benefits for students as well as an effort to develop UNAIR campus in the future.

“Together with alumni there, we tried to initiate internships or internships in several strategic American institutions. There are no our alumni who occupy strategic positions there, which helps to hold an internship program for UNAIR students. We are closely guarding the selection and recruitment process of this program. Even for the transportation costs of the students there, we also contribute, “he added.

The program is planned to continue to be developed so as to further expand the opportunities and opportunities for UNAIR students to gain exposure to world-renowned companies. “We must make this opportunity wider, including the initiation of IKA UNAIR North Sumatra. For example, there are North Sumatra students studying at UNAIR then doing internships in America or the UK, so we can facilitate it, “he said.

Commitment to Keep UNAIR's Name
Meanwhile, Dr. Bakhrul Khair Amal, chairman of IKA UNAIR North Sumatra said that the relationship built is the key to future success. “Remember that education is an endless journey. Even though we have graduated from this university, the learning process never ends,” he explained.

Dr. Bakhrul invited all IKA UNAIR North Sumatra to maintain the good name of UNAIR anywhere and anytime. He also appealed to IKA UNAIR to jointly raise the name of UNAIR according to ability and capacity.

“Let us together raise the UNAIR alma mater according to our respective abilities and capacities. Continue the struggle, the spirit of work to give the best for religion, nation and state. We hope that the communication between alumni will be maintained so that there will be synergy to build the campus, both now and in the future,” he concluded.
