UNAIR NEWS - Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) as a university that always supports its students to study despite financial constraints, provides various scholarships. One of them is the Indonesia Smart College Card (KIP-K) scholarship.

Reporting from the KIP-K website of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology, KIP Lecture is tuition assistance from the government for high school / equivalent graduates who have good academic potential but have financial limitations.

One of the recipients of the KIP-K scholarship is Putri Mardhotillah. She has graduated and was graduated at the March 241 Graduation Ceremony of 2024 UNAIR. In fact, Putri recorded her name as the Outstanding Graduate at the graduation ceremony.

The alumnus of Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences (FPK) comes from Lintau, Tanah Datar Regency, West Sumatra. Although from a distant hometown, Putri's determination and commitment to achieve her goals brought her to the UNAIR Aquaculture study program.

Active and Achievement
Putri, as she is familiarly called, has brilliant achievements during her studies at Airlangga University. One of the memorable achievements Putri achieved was the Gold Medal for PKMM Presentation at PIMNAS 34 in 2021. Putri returns to participate in the Student Creativity Program every year, and succeeds in getting funding from the Ministry of Education and Culture-Ristek.

Apart from national level competitions, Putri has also made achievements in the international arena. Namely the Thailand Inventor's Day silver medal from the Thai Ministry of Education. This series of achievements is Putri's proof that migrants from outside the island can make their home region proud.

Putri said that she got information about the KIP-K scholarship from the campus. This also motivated her to apply for the scholarship. The graduate of the Aquaculture study program comes from a simple family. She remembers her family supporting her to continue her higher education.

“My father has passed away since I was 7 years old, my mother is a housewife, so it was my uncle and brother who helped me go to school. Alhamdulillah, with the KIP-K scholarship, I can ease the burden on my uncle and brother in paying for my tuition fees,” she said.

Money Management Tips
Putri is committed to making good use of the funds she gets and still prioritizing her primary needs. She has a way to manage the funds she gets every month. The KIP-K bank account is separate from other bank accounts, and Putri chooses not to print an ATM card.

“So if it is really necessary, then I will use my KIP-K funds.” she concluded. Fortunately, Putri has never experienced any problems during the receipt of this KIP-K scholarship. Finally, Putri has a message for prospective Universitas Airlangga students who want to apply for the KIP-K scholarship. “Use the scholarship funds wisely.” she concluded.
