UNAIR NEWS - Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) continues to produce excellent graduates who are able to contribute significantly in various fields. Dr. Didik Sasono Setyadi SH MH is an alumnus of Faculty of Law (FH) UNAIR who serves as Chairman of the Association of Oil and Gas and Renewable Energy Law Practitioners (APHMET). This role puts him at the forefront of energy law development in Indonesia.

Didik spent his college years at FH UNAIR very active in various organizations. Both intra and extra campus. For Didik, college was a very valuable time. Where he gained valuable experience through his participation in various seminars in various cities in Indonesia, even abroad.

“I really enjoyed being a student, because I was very active in intra and extra campus organizations. Being an activist, I gained many valuable experiences that have influenced my career to date. From organizations, I learned about leadership, management, discipline, ethics, and integrity,” Didik said.

Entering the Professional World
Entering the professional world, Didik faces various challenges, especially intense competition. For him, the biggest challenge in his career is how to remain competent and have integrity in the midst of increasingly fierce competition.

“Competition is the biggest challenge in a career. As a professional, we must have competence in the field we are working on, but also have integrity and a good attitude. The way to overcome challenges is to keep learning, both in terms of hard skills and soft skills,” he explained.

Didik's career in the oil and gas sector began when he joined SKK Migas. A government agency responsible for the management of oil and gas natural resources in Indonesia. There, Didik served as the leader of the legal division and previously the formality division. His experience working at SKK Migas became an important moment in his career.

Professionalism and Competence
Now, as Chairman of APHMET, Didik has a new responsibility. No longer as a state employee, but as an independent who focuses on the professionalism and competence of oil and gas and renewable energy law practitioners.

“I now focus on how to make the profession of oil and gas and renewable energy law practitioners more professional, competent, and dignified in order to support the progress of the nation and state,” Didik said.

In closing, Didik emphasized that in this era of globalization, the ability to compete at the international level is very important. With the opening of career opportunities abroad, UNAIR students and graduates must have a competitive advantage that is not only based on academic knowledge, but also leadership skills, international networks, and cross-cultural understanding.
