UNAIRNEWS - Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) officially launched Airlangga Collaborative Entrepreneur Camp (ACEC) 2024 on Monday, November 23, 2020. Symbolically, Vice Rector for Academic, Student and Alumni Affairs Prof Bambang Sektiari Lukiswanto Drh DEA opened the program. The opening took place in Fadjar Notonegoro Hall, Faculty of Economics and Business, Dharmawangsa-B Campus UNAIR.

Not only from UNAIR, the participants also came from all over the campus in East Java. This activity also received full support from the Ministry of Education and Culture through the Kampus Merdeka program and aims to equip students with competitive entrepreneurial skills at both national and international levels. It is hoped that students can be more courageous and innovative in developing entrepreneurial ideas.

The event presented two well-known figures, namely Dahlan Iskan, Founder of Disway Daily, and Vania Santoso, Co-Founder of HeyStartic and Forbes 30 Under 30 awardee. In his remarks, Prof. Bambang said that ACEC 2024 could be the first step for students to take an important role in the development of the creative economy in Indonesia.

“With the entrepreneurial spirit that we build through this ACEC, I hope that all students who join can develop businesses that not only provide benefits for themselves, but also have a positive impact on the wider community,” said Prof. Bambang.

Innovative Entrepreneur
In the presentation session, Dahlan Iskan shared the importance of courage and seriousness to start a business and how to face challenges in the business world. He also emphasized the need for constant innovation amidst the dynamics of modern industry.

“To be here, you register means you are not assigned or required. From there if you want to be an entrepreneur, we must continue to learn and adapt. The business world is volatile, and innovation is the key to staying relevant,” Dahlan said.

Meanwhile, Vania Santoso shared her experience in building HeyStartic, a sustainable fashion business that uses recycled materials. She encouraged students to create businesses that are not only profitable, but also environmentally friendly.

“Nowadays, sustainability is a very important added value. We can do business while protecting the environment. This is the time for young people to take a role in creating sustainable businesses,” Vania explained.

It is hoped that ACEC 2024 can be a platform for students to hone their entrepreneurial skills. With the theme Be Brave, Be Innovative, Be an Entrepreneur, this activity aims to create a young generation that is resilient and ready to compete in the digital economy era.
