UNAIR student shares learning experiences from IISMA 2022 Monday, 22 May 2023 15:49

UNAIR NEWS – Approaching the registration window for the Indonesian International Student Mobility Awards (IISMA) on February 8 to March 1, the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) Universitas Airlangga and the Airlangga Global Engagement (AGE) held the IISMA Roadshow 2023, on Tuesday, February 7, 2023.

IISMA is a prestigious scholarship program initiated by the Directorate General of Higher Education, Research, and Technology. The program allows all Indonesian students to get fully funded learning abroad opportunities at World’s top universities.

In the roadshow, FISIP UNAIR featured Astria Okta Herdiani SIKom, Head of the Global Mobility Program at the Airlangga Global Engagement (AGE), and Christine Nebore, IISMA 2022 awardee at the University of Pécs.

Astria suggested IISMA 2023 applicants prepare the required documents, such as declaration letters, academic transcript, recommendation letters, English proficiency certificates, and essays.

“Don’t worry, AGE will accommodate all the documents you need as long as you’ve met the IISMA requirements,” she said.

On the other hand, Christine Nebore, an International Relations and IISMA 2022 Awardee, also shared her learning experience at the University of Pécs, Hungary. It was an unforgettable experience for Christine.

She had to adapt to the foreign language, new culture, and education in Hungary. With a wide range of IISMA awardees across the nation, she got to strengthen her network. “We come from all over Indonesia. There was no discrimination at all during the program,” she said.

Christine advised the candidates not to hesitate to call for help from the IISMA alumni. They are open to helping the candidates of IISMA 2023, as long as it does not close to the end of IISMA registration.
