UNAIR NEWS - Pelindo Daya Sejahtera (PDS) is a Pelindo subsidiary that manages outsourcing providers specifically for the Pelindo Group. As part of a State-Owned Enterprise (BUMN), Pelindo Daya Sejahtera provides opportunities for students and fresh graduates to participate in internships.

Sumargo, as Acting President Director of PT Pelindo Daya Sejahtera, attended the Airlangga Career and Internship Club (ACIC) Socialization and Talkshow on Certified Internships at PT Pelindo Daya Sejahtera by DPKKA UNAIR on Tuesday, June 6, 2020. He explained that many internship programs can be followed at PDS. The internship program is the Certified Student Internship Program (PMMB) which has been around since 2018. 

"PMMB is a breakthrough link and match program between the world of education and the industrial world that the Ministry of BUMN and the Indonesian Human Capital Forum (FHCI) initiated. In line with the Ministry of Education and Culture's Merdeka Learning Campus Merdeka (MBKM) Program. This program has been run by FHCI before the MBKM program existed," said Sumargo.

"This program aims to bring synergy through SOEs for Indonesia, recruitment candidates for related SOEs, and create entrepreneurial human resources following the needs of SOEs," he added.

Offering Two Programs

There are two programs that students can join at PMMB. They are Competency Certified Internship and Generation Talent Internship (MAGENTA). Competency Certified Internship is an internship according to the competency of the field (position), which is required to occupy the position for six months. Apprentices will conduct competency tests according to field competencies by the National Professional Certification Agency at the end of the apprenticeship period.

Sumargo said BUMN's Generation Talented Internship, or MAGENTA is an integrated program for students, college students, and fresh graduates. MAGENTA comes in several categories: General Internship, Santri Internship, and Independent Campus.

Sumargo also said that students who want to participate in the PMMB program could register through the official FHCI BUMN website. At the end of the internship period, participants will carry out mandatory activities, namely E-Devation within PT PELINDO. This E-Devation requires apprentices to make proposals for improvement or innovation in each work unit and is tailored to their placement division.

The proposal, said Sumargo, was then discussed with the supervisor in the form of a paper. Then, the interns present through a final project session to be tested. In this PMMB, interns will also benefit from certificates, incentives, and new knowledge.

For Airlangga University students domiciled in Surabaya, PT Pelindo Daya Sejahtera provides an opportunity to participate in a certified internship. Registration can be done through the link bit.ly/DROPCV_PDS. The registration period starts from June 12-19, 2023. This internship will be held from July to December 2023. Participants can do an internship for a minimum of three months. (*)
