UNAIR FH students win LKTI Best Paper
UNAIR NEWS – Four students of Faculty of Law, Universitas Airlangga (FH UNAIR), have made another achievement in the field of scientific writing. The four students are Istifahani Nuril Fatiha (2020), Amilah Fadhlina (2020), Kharisma Putri Wardhani (2020), and Alvin Hervansyah (2022). They discussed Sustainable Economic Development for their work.
The four FH students won the Best Paper category in Dr. Mochtar Riady Legal Week 2023 Scientific Writing Competition (LKTI) Pelita Harapan University, Tangerang, on June 8-10, 2023. It is a national-scale competition with participants from various well-known universities in Indonesia.
Team representative, Amilah, in an interview with UNAIR NEWS on Sunday, June 18, 2023, said the main theme of the LKTI was “Redefining Public Policy in Ensuring Sustainable Economic Development: Road To Indonesia 2045 Development Agenda”.
“So, the theme is related to Indonesia’s vision in 2045, a sustainable economy,” she said.
Amilah also shared the preparations they made before the competition. They started preparations at the end of April or to be precise, before Idul Fitri.
“Previously, we were selected by MYMA FH UNAIR until we finally advanced as a team representing FH UNAIR for the LKTI category. Apart from the LKTI team, there is also a debate team which, Alhamdulillah, also won 2nd place,” said Amilah.
“The difficulty at that time was that we were constrained in compiling the work. In addition to the lecture agenda, which was quite dense, it coincided with Eid al-Fitr at that time,” she added.
However, they still take the time to do research and compile their paper.
“Writing is an interesting thing for us, so even though it is difficult, we still do it wholeheartedly,” said Amilah.
As a closing statement, Amilah expressed her hope that UNAIR FH students would also try to aim for the LKTI. According to her, LKTI can hone a student’s analytical and writing skills, especially as preparation for thesis.
“Students must try all the opportunities available, including aiming the LKTI. If later you experience failure, that is normal, and the important thing is to try first while there is a chance,“ she concluded. (*)
