UNAIR NEWS - Alumni Gathering IKA Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) East Kalimantan region was successfully held. The event which took place at Iris Hotel Samarinda was held on Saturday, August 5, 2023.

The chairman of the event, Dr. Mardatillah SPsi MSi said that the activity was held to keep in touch with UNAIR alumni from East Kalimantan. Furthermore, Dr. Mardatillah also said that during the management in two years there had never been a gathering due to the pandemic.

Efforts to Support World-Class University

"This is the first anniversary. So this is our place to meet and stay in touch directly, face to face. In addition, this is a form of our support for the Directorate of Entrepreneurial Incubation Career Development and Alumni (DPKKA) related to supporting World Class University," continued Dr. Mardatillah (5/8/2023).

In addition to keeping in touch and increasing intimacy, according to her, this meeting also aims to open relationships between fellow alumni. She said that the alumni meeting will directly or indirectly increase cooperation.

"Of course, to increase our sustenance. Who knows, there are networks and relationships to work with. Mainly, perhaps it can also be a place to meet a soul mate," she said.

Adding Cooperation Relationship Between Alumni

The Alumni Gathering event was attended by UNAIR alumni from various regions of East Kalimantan, including Samarinda, Bontang, Balikpapan, Kutai Kartanegara, and so on. In addition, alumni representatives from various faculties were also present.

"All the alumni from East Kalimantan are here, around 75 people. From this activity, Alhamdulillah, everyone is happy. We managed to get alumni data from all existing faculties from 1975 to 2012," she said.

Dr. Mardatillah hopes that activities like this will continue. Apart from being a form of support for the Directorate of Entrepreneurial Incubation Career Development and Alumni (DPKKA), it is also a place to add relationships and maintain friendships. Furthermore, the various activities in this event were able to strengthen the kinship between fellow alumni.

"Of course, the hope for the future is always good, yes. As I have said, we expect a lot from this activity. With the data and the opening of relationships between alumni, hopefully, it will be able to increase the sustenance and cooperation of fellow alumni from East Kalimantan," she concluded.
