UNAIR student wins Best Presentation Award at IYEN 2024 in Indonesia Thursday, 22 February 2024 16:05

UNAIR NEWS – A student from the Faculty of Psychology Universitas Airlangga (FPsi UNAIR) has showcased a remarkable achievement on the international stage. Alfahusna Wannajaah or Naja, in short, clinched the Best Presentation award at the Indonesia Youth Excursion Network (IYEN 2024) in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Representing Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) in this competition was no small feat as she competed against the competitors across the world. However, this didn’t deter her from giving her best for university.

“This is my first experience, where I decided to showcase courage and confidence by participating in this competition. I believe that this courage will lead me to achieve victory and surpass other highly competent competitors.

Advocating Hi-Health
In the competition, the Psychology student presented an adaptive and solution-oriented innovation related to Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). One of the issues addressed was healthcare. Naja and her team proposed an application called Hi-Health.

Hi-Health is a healthcare service app. The development of this app was driven by the low rate of Indonesians undergoing regular health check-ups in the previous year. She believes telemedicine could serve as a proactive measure to stimulate public interest in routine health examinations.

“In Indonesia, there are currently no personal healthcare assistant apps. This encouraged me to develop a digital-based healthcare service app for broader accessibility among the public,” she elaborated.

Hi-Health aims to enhance the quality of life and health of the community, serving as a digital-based health information and promotion platform, and the first personal healthcare assistant application in Indonesia.

Challenges
Naja admitted that being part of a team with students from various universities in Indonesia was overwhelming when it came to discussing and determining the right ideas for implementing SDGs in Indonesia. Despite the challenge, they managed to overcome it and collaborate effectively.

“Being in a team with students from other universities across Indonesia, each with their commitments, posed a challenge for our team. However, through solidarity and teamwork, we successfully secured the title,” she added.

The Psychology student emphasized the importance of not giving up when facing challenges or obstacles. She highlighted that courage and self-confidence are keys to achieving success.

“These are crucial keys to achieving success in this competition. Of course, diligent practice is also essential to yield satisfactory results,” she concluded.
