UNAIR NEWS – The Directorate of Career Development, Entrepreneurship Incubation, and Alumni Affairs (DPKKA) Universitas Airlangga hosted the 39th ACESFA (Airlangga Career, Entrepreneurship, and Scholarship Fair) on Tuesday, March 5, 2024. This annual event was officially opened by Prof Dr. Mohammad Nasih SE MT Ak, the Rector of Universitas Airlangga.

The opening of ACESFA, held at the Airlangga Convention Center (ACC), MERR-C Campus, gave the widest opportunities for UNAIR graduates to apply for jobs. Over the next two days, the event connected 80 companies, both offline and online, to job seekers.

ACESFA facilitates job search
According to Prof Dr. Elly Munadziroh drg MS, the Head of DPKKA UNAIR, ACESFA facilitates the search for job opportunities in one place. She believes that this event can bridge the gap between education and industry.

“Today’s ACESFA can connect students with their dream career choices. We organize events like this to get closer to our corporate partners so that UNAIR graduates can be absorbed into the workforce and industry,” she explained.

In addition to facilitating the job fair, Prof. Elly also mentioned that ACESFA provides internship information. “Not only about job recruitment, but this event also provides internship information,” she elaborated.

Rector of UNAIR Inaugurates the 39th ACESFA
During the opening and inauguration of the 39th ACESFA, Prof. Nasih welcomed the corporate partners. He hoped that this event could evaluate the obstacles faced by UNAIR graduates in finding employment.

“I hope that the partners present today can provide feedback to us, especially for fresh graduates, regarding the weaknesses in their job applications. Through the feedback you provide, solutions can be found. This way, they don’t have to wait long to get a job with decent pay,” said Prof. Nasih.

Prof. Nasih emphasized that feedback from partners could serve as a consideration for the university to introduce new policies. He mentioned that higher education is no longer just about acquiring knowledge but also about obtaining employment and decent salaries.

“Partners can provide feedback. Later on, one or two curricula can be removed and replaced with real-world job-related curricula. The students are not only oriented to acquire knowledge but also about employment and decent salaries to support their families,” he concluded.
