QS WUR by Subjects 2024, UNAIR five subjects ranked first nationally Friday, 26 April 2024 12:38

 

UNAIR NEWS – Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) has once again garnered international recognition. Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) World University Rankings (WUR) has published its latest edition of higher education institution rankings  based on Narrow Subjects and Broad Subjects. UNAIR has secured its position among the best national and international universities.

 

Five subjects and national ranks
In the narrow subjects ranking, UNAIR’s five subjects has reached the 300th to 200th range globally. Simultaneously, these five subjects of UNAIR have been ranked first nationally. Among these subjects are Accounting and Finance (#101-150), Modern Languages (#151-200), Economics and Econometrics (#151-200), Law (#151-200), and Pharmacy and Pharmacology (#301-350).

Furthermore, several other fields have achieved Top 350-200 positions globally, and the second national ranking. These subjects include medicine (#301-350), sociology (#251-300), and linguistics (#301-320).

Other UNAIR’s subjects were also ranked third and sixth nationally. Business and Management Studies (#251-300) and Biological Sciences (#601-650) claimed the third spot, while Computer Science and Information Systems (#651-700) were ranked sixth.

In the Broad Subjects category, UNAIR secures the #401-450 position, and the second national rank, in Life Sciences and Medicine. Additionally, in Social Sciences and Management, as well as Arts and Humanities, UNAIR holds #244 and #451-500 global position respectively. Finally, in Engineering and Technology, UNAIR occupies the #501-550 position, the fourth nationally.

These UNAIR achievements are the result of hard work, dedication, and collaboration among all members of its academic community as the rankings are evaluated based on the performance of various stakeholders.

For the record, QS WUR assesses this performance based on five indicators: academic reputation, employer reputation, citations from publications, H-Index, and international research networks. This year, QS WUR’s evaluation encompasses 55 subjects, involving a total of 1,559 ranked institutions.
