UNAIR NEWS - In preparing the career of UNAIR students, DPKKA together with Computrade Technology International (CTI) provided information on the preparation of linkedin. The activity was held on Thursday, May 30, 2020 online with Monica Astrid Inez Asterina or Astrid as the guest speaker.

Before discussing more about linkedin, Astrid explained about CTI. The company is engaged in digital economic development. She added that CTI has a mission to create insight and enthusiasm for entrepreneurs who want to develop an economy based on digitalization.

A platform for self-introduction
Astrid explained that linkedin is a place to introduce yourself. The main information that must be filled in is in the self-profile section. During her time as part of Human Resources Development, she revealed that a detailed and clear profile attracts most companies.

"Name, education, and expertise are mandatory parts of the profile. An attractive and neat profile photo is also a part that cannot be forgotten, because the photo shows the identity of the linkedin owner," she said.

Astrid said that the next step is to describe yourself. Excellence and experience can be included in the description section in linkedin. "In addition to experience, students can usually add campus and off-campus organizational activities, as evidence and advantages that friends have," she explained.

Linking according to interests
In linkedin there is a feature to connect to several companies, according to Astrid, this is actually helpful. That access can be the first step for linkedin owners who want to find a job or just an internship.

"Connecting our linkedin with companies or places according to our interests is the first step towards our future career. In addition, for friends who are looking for work, they can use the open to work feature, which serves to recommend to several places of work that are sought after," she said.

Astrid revealed that while still in college, do activities that support your abilities. Not only about academics, but also soft skills that must be developed. "Journals that you have written, competition activities, or internships can be uploaded through linkedin. One's activeness in linkedin makes its own interest for a company," she concluded.
