UNAIR NEWS - Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) students made another proud achievement. Five UNAIR students, Andini Ariani Carolina (FPK), Andhika Hartawan Saputra (FTMM), Farrel Bhanu (FPK), Ferlany Zahra (FPK), and Aufar Mahran (FTMM), won gold medals in Kuala Lumpur Malaysia at the International Youth Competition. The gold medal was won by UNAIR team after defeating many participants from various countries.

The International Youth Competition took place at the EDC Hotel Hall in Kuala Lumpur for two days, Monday-Tuesday (12-13/8/2024). The competition was organized by Nusantara Muda Institute and Putra Malaya University. The International Youth Competition is a competition that brings together talented young people from various countries to compete in various categories.

Innovation and Creativity
The competition was attended by participants from various universities around the world. The UNAIR student team managed to captivate the judges' attention with their innovative project in the form of Electric Vehicle (EV) development. The project combines cutting-edge technology with the concept of sustainability, which is very relevant to today's global challenges.

The team leader, Andhika Hartawan expressed his gratitude and pride for this achievement. “We are very grateful for the support provided by the university and the guidance from the lecturers. This success is the result of hard work and dedication of the whole team. We hope this achievement can make Indonesia proud in the eyes of the world and become a motivation for other young generations,” he said.

Obstacles
Ahead of the competition, UNAIR team had some problems in the operation of their equipment. Andini, one of the team members, said that the farad capacitance meter had an error after landing at the airport. The tool could not show the amount of voltage in the battery.

Until the morning of the presentation, the team tried to re-research to fix the device, but it still couldn't. “We had prepared materials to change the presentation strategy, however, when we will present the tool in front of the jury and audience our tool works according to the technical so we continue the presentation smoothly and thankfully we got a gold medal,” he concluded.
