UNAIR NEWS - In the series of 70th Anniversary of Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) and XIVth Lustrum, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees (MWA), Prof HCUA Dr H Sunarto SH MH was present. In his speech, Prof. Sunarto congratulated UNAIR. “This anniversary event is also a historical momentum, which coincides with Heroes' Day on November 10. In 1954 UNAIR was inaugurated by the first president, Ir Soekarno. Therefore, I congratulate Universitas Airlangga for going through 70 years of a very long journey,” said Prof. Sunarto.

Commitment to Develop

This long journey, continued Prof. Sunarto, is a means to always be introspective while spreading commitment to continue to develop and maintain the flame of struggle. Especially in the field of higher education, not only for Indonesia but also internationally.

“In line with UNAIR's 2021 to 2026 strategic plan with the tagline optimizing added value and contributing significantly locally, nationally and internationally. The Board of Trustees received good news where history was made with the acquisition of UNAIR, which was ranked 308 QS World University Ranking, “said Prof. Sunarto.

Achievements and Accomplishments

In addition to achieving impressive rankings, UNAIR also made achievements. From the academic field, UNAIR won the RA Kartini award for vaccine development. In addition, a number of lecturers were included in the list of the world's top 2 percent scientists by Stanford University and Elsevier.

Then, from the field of scientific publications, UNAIR showed a significant increase with more than 19,000 scientific publications and 43,000 cumulative citations in Scopus indexed journals. From the financial aspect, UNAIR achieved 99 percent compliance rate of Unqualified reporting. As well as an increase in the score of the Government Agency Performance Accountability System to AA level.

“These achievements reflect UNAIR's significant improvement in education, research, innovation, and social contribution. This achievement also places UNAIR as one of the leading universities in Asia and globally,” he said.
